Cost: $50 for the day (includes a ticket for the evening’s concert); $25 for one workshop (Come and Sing is free, but please register)
9.30 – 11.00am: The incredible Dances of Aceh, Indonesia are a highlight of the Gondwana repertoire. Be guided by Murtala and Alfira O’Sullivan of the acclaimed Suara Indonesia Dance company as you put your coordination to the test, as you sing!

11:30 – 1:00pm – Taiko Drumming for Beginners.
Join Ryuji Hamada of Taikoz to try your hand at the ancient art of Japanese drumming.
1:00 – 2:00pm: Lunch – there are plenty of excellent options at the UNSW campus.
2:00 – 3:30pm – The Music of Eastern Europe.
Mara Kiek is an internationally recognised performer of the musics of Eastern Europe. Mara will explain some of the physiological aspects of the vocal technique used in Bulgarian singing and give you an insight into this rich musical culture

4:00 – 5:30pm – Come and Sing!
For voices of all shapes and sizes. From divas to shower singers, this FREE workshop will welcome all to join in learning one of the jewels of the choral crown. Led by Liz Vierboom
7:00pm – Festival of Summer Voices: The Song Company
Finish your day with the beautiful sounds of the Song Company, Australia’s professional vocal consort. Directed by Anthony Pitts, the Song Company will journey through music of the Elizabethan Age right up to music written just days before.
